Colca Canyon and condors.

In the Arequipa region there are more than 100 volcano’s steel active. That’s the reason way Arequipa often has earthquakes.

The landscape is very beautiful.

The canyon is home to the Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus)

The Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus) is a species of South American bird in the New World vulture family Cathartidae and is the only member of the genus Vultur. Found in the Andes mountains and adjacent Pacific coasts of western South America, it is the largest flying land bird in the Western Hemisphere.
It was a fabulous feeling when a Condor past only a few meter over our heads.

Colca Canyon is a canyon of the Colca River in southern Peru. It is located about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Arequipa. It is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States 4,160 m.

I got a new frend,

Take care! Mata ne!

Hej Gerhard!
Roland
